Rate Structure

The Authority will furnish water and service only in accordance with the currently prevailing and as hereinafter revised rates as mentioned in the Customer Service Handbook. The rate structure is as follows:

SERVICE LINE CONNECTIONS

All applicants for water service shall pay a service line connection fee when submitting an application for service to a premise not having a service line connection. The following service line connection charges, subject to periodic adjustment, are in effect:

In the event the actual cost of installing the service line is greater than the minimum fee, the applicant will be required to pay the actual cost, plus any permit, restoration, right-of-way and/or other such fees and costs. The fees for service connections, 2 inches and larger will be based on the actual installation costs, plus any other related costs.

TAPPING FEES

The Authority has established schedules of tapping fees for connections to main water lines, said tapping fees being in addition to the service line connection fees. The tapping fees will vary, being subject to the location of the main line, to a connection on a main line installed by the Authority and/or others under reimbursement agreements, to main lines installed under assessment agreements and to other special conditions.

PUBLIC FIRE PROTECTION-Hydrants

Public Fire Hydrants

The annual charges on public fire hydrants shall be $212.40 per hydrant, per year, payable quarterly. Fire hydrants installed by the municipality and/or others requesting the hydrant shall pay the complete installation cost thereof, including the hydrant, tee valve, piping, fittings, blocking, drainage, restoration charges, permit fees and other costs. The maximum distance between hydrants shall not exceed 1,200 ft.The fire hydrants and installation thereof shall be in complete compliance with the Rules and Regulations of The MunicipalAuthority of the Borough of West View.

 

PRIVATE FIRE PROTECTION FACILITIES

The fire hydrants and installation thereof shall be in complete compliance with the Rules and Regulations of The Municipal Authority of the Borough of West View. The following charges shall apply for all private fire protection facilities, payable quarterly.

The premises, if furnished with general water service, in addition to private fire protection service as outlined above, the customer will also be billed for general metered service, in accordance with the Schedule of Rates for Metered Service. If the sole connection to a private line is one or more fire hydrants and no other fire protection devices, the charges shall be those stated above for fire hydrants. The premises, if furnished general water service in addition to private fire protection service, will be billed also for general metered water service, in accordance with the Schedule of Rates for Metered Service.
